2004 Scholarship Winners

Alex Miller

Kim Garfield, Ricky Carlson and Alex Miller were the 2004 winners of the "Swanny" Swanson Scholarship. They were each presented with a $1,000 scholarship at graduation. Kim is attending Ohio State University. Rick and Alex are both attending Jamestown Community College.

2003 Scholarship Winners



Emily Berg

John Pinciaro

Matthew Rowley

Emily Berg, John Pinciaro and Matt Rowley were the 2003 winners of the "Swanny" Swanson scholarship. They were each presented with a $1,000 scholarship at graduation. Emily, John and Matt all went on to attend Jamestown Community College.

2002 Scholarship Winners



Nicole Prentice

Tyler Miller

Nicole Prentice and Tyler Miller were co-winners. They were each presented with a $1,200 scholarship at graduation. Nicole went on the attend Fredonia State University and to play softball for the Blue Devils. Tyler went on to attend the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio.

A Special Note: Tyler's dad Dave played many baseball games with Craig together in the County Grape Belt League with Craig as pitcher and Dave as catcher.

2001 Scholarship Winners



Steve Boskat

Seth Johnson

Steve Boskat and Seth Johnson were co-winners. They were each presented with a $1,000 scholarship at graduation. Steve went on the attend Jamestown Community College and to play baseball for the Jayhawks. Seth went on to attend St. Bonaventure University where he received a swimming scholarship.

Seth's first season was very successful. He broke the St. Bonaventure 50 free record and was the Atlantic 10 - 50 free champion. He was named the Atlantic 10 Tookie of the Year, had the third fastest time ever in the 50 free in Atlantic 10 competition and had a Senior National Olympic Trial Qualifying Time.

2000 Scholarship Winners



Patrick Dove

Bradley Foust

There were two scholarship winners in 2000. Pat Dove and Brad Foust each received a $1,000 scholarship. Pat went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and Brad went on to attend Bucknell University.

1999 Scholarship Winner



Missy Stanford

Missy Stanford was the 1999 scholarship award winner. Missy was presented a $1,500 scholarship at graduation. She went on to attend Jamestown Community College.


1998 Scholarship Winner



Brianne Prince

Brianne Prince was the 1998 scholarship award winner. Brianne was presented a $1,500 scholarship at graduation. She went on to attend St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York with a mjor in Physical Education. She played softball for the Bonnies during her freshman year and was named to the Altantic 10 Conference Commisioner's Honor Roll. She had planned on playing softball the following year, but, because of illness was not able to.

Special Donation

Torie and Bruce Swanson and Steve Centi presented a donation of $1,500 to Brianne Prince, our 1998 scholarship winner, following the 1999 golf tournament. The money was given to help pay Brianne's medical bills. (Read the article.)


1997 Scholarship Winners



Michael Sheesley

Seth Johnson

There were two winners in 1997, Michael Sheesley who went on to attend Fredonia State and Seth Johnson who went on to attend Alfred State College. Both students went on to play college baseball.

1996 Scholarship Winner



Matt Moore

Matt Moore was the 1996 scholarship award winner. Matt went on to attend Cortland University and participated on the swim team.


1995 Scholarship Winners



Dan Cheney

Darren Beckerink

We had so many outstanding candidates for the scholarship in 1995 that we chose two winners, Dan Cheney and Darren Beckerink. Both were members of the 1995 State Championship Team! Dan went on to attend St. Bonaventure University in Olean. He was awarded a baseball scholaship as a pitcher. Darren went on to attend St. John Fisher in Rochester and played college baseball.

1994 Scholarship Winner



Sam Zembardo

Sam Zembardo was the 1994 scholarship award winner. Sam participated on the Frewsburg High School baseball team. He went on to attend Jamestown Community College with a major in Business Administration.


1993 Scholarship Winner



Dan Lewis

Dan Lewis was the 1993 scholarship award winner. Dan graduated in 1993 as an honor student and also participated on the Frewsburg High School baseball team. He went on to attend Jamestown Community College and Fredonia State University.


1992 Scholarship Winner



Brian Nelson

The first annual award was presented by Craig's former coach, William Hair, to Brian Nelson, a June 1992 graduate. Brian was an honor student and a key member of the high school baseball team. He went on to attend Baldwin-Wallace College and played college baseball.
